Are you attending or hosting one
of the last  BBQ's of the Summer?
Not sure what to make? Hello
Everyone! This is Laura Kalk your
Oneida County Dairy Princess
with a few unique burger ideas
along with a BBQ Chicken and
Cheddar Sandwich idea.
   For the burger maybe you
would like to try one of the
following:
Blues Burger: Mix your ground
beef with onions, garlic,
Worcestershire sauce and blue
cheese, grill or broil and top with
onions.
Italian Burger: Equally mix
ground beef and Italian sausage
with chopped onion, garlic, sun -
dried tomatoes and Italian
seasoning; grill or broil burger and
top with mozzarella cheese.
Southwest Burger: Again mix your
ground beef with chopped onion,
garlic, chili powder; grill or broil
your burger and top with BBQ
sauce and Cheddar cheese.
   Perhaps you prefer Chicken
over Burgers. Than maybe you
would like to try the following
recipe. You will need:
1/4 cup mayonnaise plain or
flavored suggested flavor is sun -
dried tomato
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
8 slices hearty Italian bread works
best if cut into 1/2 inch slices
2 boneless grilled chicken breast
1/2 of a medium red onion sliced
6 ounces grated sharp or extra
sharp cheese
4 cooked slices of bacon
6 tablespoons honey BBQ sauce

Preheat a covered grill or non
stick skillet for five minutes.
Spray with non-stick cooking
spray.
Combine mayonnaise and grated
Parmesan in small bowl. Arrange
bread slices on cutting board and
spread approximately one
tablespoon of Parmesan - mayo
mixture on four of the bread
slices. Top each with several
slices of chicken, onion, 1/2
Cheddar cheese and one bacon
slice. Spread remaining slice of
bread with 1 and 1/2 tablespoons
of BBQ sauce. Assemble
sandwiches.

Cook sanwiches two at a time in
covered grill, about six minutes or
until bread is golden and cheese is
melted. Remove from grill and cut
into quarters. Serve with side of
additional BBQ sauce if desired.

*If you do not have a covered grill,
cook sandwiched in a non- stick
skillet until lightly browned,
about three minutes on each side.
